Privacy & safety

Where Hestia stands.

Five things that matter, before you sign up.

Kids don't talk to AI.

The AI coach is for parents only. Your kid's experience is just surveys, never unsupervised conversations with a chatbot.

Your data is yours.

Encrypted at rest, never sold, never used to train AI models. You can delete it all, any time.

Designed by mental health professionals.

AI responses run through clinical guardrails. No alarmism, no medical advice, no overreach beyond what evidence-based practice supports.

Not a replacement for therapy.

Hestia supports the work of being a present parent. It doesn't replace a therapist, pediatrician, or psychiatrist, and can help you notice when one might be worth seeking out.

You stay in control.

You consent for your kids. You see clinical summaries and risk levels, designed to give you what you need to act, while respecting your kid's privacy in the specifics.

A note from the founder

“As clinicians, we've seen an alarming increase in mental health needs among children at younger and younger ages. We know how powerful early intervention can be, supporting children as soon as signs begin to appear, but recognizing those signs and knowing when to seek help can be difficult for many families. We also saw how deeply parents want to support their children, but often feel unsure of what to look for or where to start. That's where Hestia comes in: a tool designed to help identify early signs that a child may need support, while giving parents guidance, clarity, and a greater sense of confidence in navigating their child's mental wellbeing.”

FAQ

Questions parents ask.

What ages is Hestia for?

Hestia is designed for parents of children ages 4 to 17. When a child turns 18, additional features unlock for adult children.

What happens when my child turns 18, or is already an adult?

When a child with their own Hestia login turns 18, they take the lead on their own mental health and wellbeing information. Sharing stays on by default, so nothing changes overnight, but your young adult can now decide what they keep private. From their profile they can choose whether to share their survey responses with you, whether you can log daily check-ins about them, and whether to share their behavior plans. Connection surveys, which are about how your family relates to one another, stay shared with everyone by design.

If they choose to keep something private, you will see a gentle note that the information is private rather than the details themselves. Anything recorded before they turned 18 stays available to you in a read-only history. They can also start their own wellness check-ins whenever they like, on their own terms.

If someone is already 18 or older when they join with their own login, these same controls apply from the start. The goal is to keep supporting your family's connection while respecting that your young adult now owns their own wellbeing.

Will Hestia replace my child's therapist?

No. Hestia is not a replacement for therapy, pediatric care, or psychiatric treatment. If your child is already seeing a clinician, Hestia is designed to complement that care between sessions. If they're not, Hestia can help you recognize when professional support might be needed.

What if my child is in crisis?

Hestia is not a crisis intervention tool. If your child is in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line), or call 911. Hestia is designed to support everyday parenting, not crisis response.

What if I have multiple kids of different ages?

One Hestia membership covers your whole family. Add unlimited children at no extra cost per kid. Each child has their own profile so surveys, plans, and check-ins are organized separately. You can invite unlimited co-parents under the same membership.

Where do the mental health surveys come from?

Our surveys are designed by mental health professionals based on real-world practice. They are screeners, not diagnostic tools.

What does the AI coach actually do?

The coach is a parent-facing assistant. It uses your family's surveys, behavior plans, and past conversations, alongside evidence-based clinical practices, to give you tailored guidance. It does not give medical advice, replace a clinician, or talk to your children directly.

Questions kids ask.

For the kids in your family, when they want to know what Hestia is.

Will my parents see what I share?

Yes. Hestia is designed for parents to better understand how you're doing, so they can support you. The grown-ups in your family see your survey results to know how to be there for you. Hestia isn't a place to put secrets, it's a tool you and your family use together.

Can I talk to the AI?

No, the AI is only for parents. Your part of Hestia is for taking surveys and doing things together as a family. If you want to talk to someone about something you're feeling, the best place is with a parent, a school counselor, or another trusted adult.

What if I don't want to do a survey?

You can always tell your parent. Hestia works best when it feels like something your family does together, not something that's done to you. Your honest answer matters more than just getting through it.
